Spleeter¶
About¶
Deezer's source separation library. U-Net on magnitude spectrograms, TensorFlow-based. Extremely popular (28k GitHub stars) due to ease of use and speed. Separates into 2/4/5 stems. Quality is lower than Demucs/HTDemucs on acoustic music but it's fast and reliable. Widely used in production and as a baseline.
Relevance¶
Lower quality alternative to Demucs for bluegrass. The spectrogram-only approach produces more artifacts on acoustic instruments with complex harmonics. Useful as a fast baseline or when Demucs is too slow. Same fixed-stem limitation as all other tools.
Mentions¶
- ../entities/demucs — higher quality alternative
- ../entities/open-unmix — more hackable alternative
